Just The Way I Like It part- 1
Just The Way I Like It part- 1
During the days of the disco craze there was a tune with the hook that’s the way I like it u-huh u-huh”.
Its Deja’vu all over again as we hit the holiday season. Holidays are for fun but commercialization and unreasonable expectations imposed upon us by ourselves often make the holiday season a most stressful time of the year. To reduce stress and have more ran I have adopted the less is more practice for the holidays.
High volume and high quality are seldom synonymous. You cannot enjoy holiday gatherings if you are stressed out from trying to please everyone. Rick Nelson said it well in song “you can’t please everyone, so you gotta please yourself’.
Scheduling too many activities causes you to constantly watch the clock and often run late. Arriving late at a gathering is an insult to your host and it sends the message that you are unorganized and inconsiderate to all of the other guests. This is not a good image to project.
If you want to enjoy the holiday season much more this year make a list of the gatherings you will be invited too. Prioritize the list and schedule fewer activities. When you take time to plan your holiday activities you will reduce your stress, your image and performance will improve and you can enjoy the holidays.
And that’s the way I like it.
